When I finally decided that City9k was simply too big and complicated to be made in source I was ruined, I had worked about 200 hours on it, and about half way into competition the compile times started to stretch to about 2 days, even with optimization. I've decided that the best feature of the entire map was the skybox, thats what made it look so big and complex. There really isnt any need for an office building with multiple storys that are all playable. Now that I know alot more about mapping, and am able to build things in a much cleaner and detailed fashon I should try making this map again. I will be deleting alot of the map, the bsp was around 40 mb's before it stopped working, and I plan to keep it down to a maximum of 15 mb. Here are some early screens of the map. The basic objective: Make the map small and more manageable, while still keeping the large daunting feeling, and also greatly improve detail and lighting. Wish me luck!

It looks great but what do I always say?; you could make it more detailed ^^ as in the last picture, the grass is flat, nothin on or around it But it still looks great! Break a leg

You noticed the grass was flat, but didnt notice that the skybox was about 50 metres higher than it should be? Ill take your advice though.

Whaha actually it doesn't look to high if I'll be honest. Look at these: They almost the same height... But on the first screen it looks like they don't need to be there. they look misplaced (Is that good english ?) Good Luck;)
