Hi. So I'm making this little map wich are going to be implemented into a bigger map. But I have this problem with my displacements. Objects go right through it. I don't know how to fix this. HELP!

If its what i think it is, you need to make another brush underneath the brush your using displacement on.

Uhm... That's the general, generic advice, but it isn't necessary. I went through the same thing with 'Darth Zew.' I don't know why that problem's occuring, but I wrote a pretty procedural tut on how to do it, right... It's not a TERRIBLY old thread, so it should be in the recent past. -// AMEND: Thread Link: www.ubermicro.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=main&action=display&thread=372//-

How do you apply different textures to the same displacement, as seen in the SDK example map from Water Hazard? And can you blend textures naturally?
How, for example, do you create a beach that changes from sand to dirt to grass as you go inshore?

I believe it is multiple displacements, I think it tells you how to join them on the video.

I have the same prbolem with stuff falling through my displacments, I remember seeing something of that nature in a Valve SDK Editor forum but.... you know when you find something and it isnt what you are looking for and then when you are looking for what you past on you can never find it again?
that is what happened to me ¬_¬ if people had a look there i think someone may find it. P.S Sorry for my possible horrible spelling and grammer... im very tired.
thanks for the help in advanced

i think it will work if you have the displacement only on one side of the brush. Ex. If you have a box, use dislacements for one of the six sides. Not sure, I have had this problem before.... I have another question about displacements. I know they take up alot of memory, but if for some reason I made a displacement on a no draw texture, would it take up any memory when I play the level?

I don't think it would take up any memory if it was all nodraw.
