Also, your grid might be set REALLY small.... You can check this a couple of ways:
In a view (not 3D), select your object and zoom all the way in to it's line on the grid. It's probably snapped to a grin-line that's really close, but a small square away;
Change your grid-size all the way up, and then all the way down. You might have to do this a couple of times. After doing that, zoom in to where you want the depth and then set your grid, accordingly - you can check it by selecting the arrow tool and make a square one block, square.
It's dimensions will tell you how big your grid is set to.
While snapping to grid may seem like a hemorrhoid, at times, it helps to keep map sizing consistent; which helps for doing stuff like water.

Try making the prop_static objects prop_physics
You have to be more specific when talking about errors.

I gues this is the error?
No such variable "$hdrbasetexture" for material "skybox/sky_day01_01rt" Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_day01_01 to build the default cubemap!
Did you made your own texture? I'm not sure about this, never seen this error before, im sorry.

I'm more worried about the
6 degenerate faces
bit and... where's the portalflow section? Show us a picture of your compile screen just before you press OK to start compiling

Ok, I completly uninstalled steam and all its applications. I reinstalled hl2 and hl2 dm as well as source sdk and sources sdk base. Now when I go to compile my maps the log file comes up but the map doesn't load. No error reports come up, nothing happens. Please help me out somebody so I can get back to mapping.

Load up the game manually. In games like CSS it'll appear in the map list. For others, you have to bring down the console and type
map (your maps name, NOT in brackets)
ie
map gmoney
if your map is called gmoney
