whenever i draw a cylinder like a light pole or a storage tank or silo or whatever it will fault the map and not load when i compile the map and play it. I found if i hollow it out it will work fine. when u go to reload the map in hammer it will say (xx number of objects couldnt be saved or loaded) or something close to this. i can get an example if needed but it seemed to be a self descriptive error... any clues?

Paste the failed compile log, it could help.
Perhaps screen-shots of the object too.
A complex object, like a many-sided cylinder, needs to be made into a Func_Detail in order to not break up the world into multiple unnecessary VisLeafs. See the UBerMicro FAQ guide at the top of any forum for further details.
