It's funny how I look back at when Half Life 2 first came out and think of it as a different game. I remember getting into online games with HL2DM, and I joined loads of custom maps. They all sucked by todays standards but there was one in particular which I remember- a small courtyard with spawning antlions. I remember asking the person on the server if they had made it. 'Yes.' I then asked them how. No reply.
If only they could see me now...
I also remember playing that fantastic outdoor map (overwatch?) and staring at that lovely, reflective floor outside. Things haven't progressed from Half Life 2 in that respect. Not until they introduce destructible terrain.
Just some random thoughts, do any of you have fun memories from years ago?

I remember my freind Kevin teaching me to map one day, then he goes offline for no aparent reason. People on my garrysmod server start fighting about something (Garrysmod causes lots of fights).
Im like: Shit, now what. Kevins gone and im stuck here with this shitty map and no idea how to finish it.
*Goes to youtube and searches "Source SDK Tutorials"* Your tutorials come up, along with that guy who sounds like a serial killer who smokes to much, and I think the first one I watched was about ladders and water, and for some reason I imagined you were about 25 and had black hair, but that turned out to be wrong.
Basically I started mapping because people were uploading their really nice maps to my server. I started thinking that
Anyway I produced my first map, which was two rooms and in the middle there was a hallway to go between the two, I uploaded it to my gmod server, and recieved a "This fucking sucks rusty" response.
Anyway my next map was much better, it was two giant sky castes seperated by a desert with palm trees, featuring a skybox!
