I typed it into google just to see what happened. Yes, that's right people, somebody has actually gotten into an arguement, saying how terrible Crysis is compared to Unreal Tournament 3. Prepare for 12 long pages of wall staring and fire comparing. Best comeback I can find so far... 'Hey, I heard REAL fire looks slightly pixelated up close. Check it out then send us some pics!' uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26629426&page=0

You read through all this dribble? You cant really compare the two engines.
Crysis was made for large tropical outdoor environments, and its damn good at that.

Oh I love reading through it. You begin to realise how desperate that person is, referring to the same screenshots, confusing his arguments, saying 'texture detail is everything' before showing a low res screenshot with high quality specular shading and shouting 'Shader detail is everything!'. He even took a picture showing the low quality rock next to amazing ground graphics, to show it wasn't on 'low quality settings'. You begin to realise that there are some people with no reason or proof, and that they are just there to make other people laugh at them.

well that thread was boring, and too many people had "wood" in their name for my liking lol. That guy who was moaning all the time about how poor crusis gfx card is running them on a 8800 GT 512 mb, which on has about 120 stream processors.
I have played crysis on my computer, which has 4gb ram, 3.1ghz quad Q6600, Asus 4870 and i maxed all the settings and they are much better than what that failure of a person is portraying them as.

That guy who was moaning all the time about how poor crusis gfx card is running them on a 8800 GT 512 mb, which on has about 120 stream processors. Nvidia's Stream Processors are different to ATI's. For instance, the Radeon 3870 was slower than the Geforce 8800 series in general, and the 3870 had 320 stream processors. ATI's new ones have 800, and yes they are faster. I'd say the difference is that while a Geforce 8 can run Crysis with 0 AA at 1280x720, the ATI 4850 can run it at 1680 x 1050 with 0 AA and the 4870 can do it with AA enabled, all at roughly the same speed. Then again, Left 4 Dead runs far smoother on my ATI 4850. On VERY HIGH shader detail, my Geforce 8800 struggles to get 50 FPS (No matter what resolution), while my 4850 is running at over 100.

I may only have a 9600 Gt (512 Mb RAM, 256 bit) I can still max out L4D, AA, shaders, etc and get a steady 60 - 70 fps, the 9600 gt loads some games faster than the 8800 gt as I have noticed by starting up games with online friends who have basically the same computer as me, except they have an 8800 gt, but in games like Crysis an 8800 gives that little performance boost! But Fraps brings my fps down to 20 in L4D *shakes fist*

Anyways I got no fucking idea on what my pc specs are, anyone got a clue how to find them(Somewhere on w3?)

I manage to get into arguments with at least 5 people like this one a day. I can't help it, I just feel that it's my duty to STOP people like this by ARGUING fruitlessly for hours on end.
Way to tell they're idiots- they ignore anything against their argument. For instance,
'7 ball juggling is the most anybody can do!'
'Here's a video of some one doing 9'
'HAHAHA you're just upset that I pwned you because you know nobody can do more than 7!' or 'No that's 7' (When it blatantly isn't) or 'You can tell it's computer generated' or 'Yeah but you can't so STFU'
Prolonged exposure to this sort of stupidity makes you feel like GOD.
