I am creating a level and will post all the problems I am having with it. Thanks in advance for the help. -A problem that I am currently dealing with is creating a func_physbox. This is my plank (wooden board). The plank is held by two hooks and it blocks entrance to two rotating doors. The problem I am having is making the plank invincible to both the doors (when someone tries to open the doors) and to any other attacks (gun fire, crow bar, ect.).

I believe there's a YouTube vid about 'Dangly Bits,' where, I think it's said that, "There comes a time, in everyone's life, when they need a big, dangly thing..." Great line, eh, SharpS? Enough razzing, here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BmyHrCWJO4

New problem to consider as well, I want my doors to open as I push against them, not in response to my bumping into them. Do I just use a func_door instead of a rotating door?

You mean a physics door that swings about depending on how hard you hit it? Use a func_physbox object for the door then use phys_hinge entities to hold it in place.
This would allow for your 'hook' thing.

That was exactly what I wanted. Thanks a bunch, o and the "hook" thing was for a different problem. (learn to read. LOL). Thanks again, and remember, this thread has my other mapping problems on it as well. *I'm not too good with the hinge tool...

Ok, another question. how do I restrict the movement of the func_physbox. Right now it rotates on the phys_hinge perfect, but I want it to be able to swing 180 degrees inward instead of 360 degrees, both inward and outward. Thanks.

Just place a block to stop it from travelling any further.

nodraw, though clip might be better as it doesn't leave a shadow.

Same response - different source.
would the 'invisible' texture leave a shadow? I'm not sure; I've used it before, but didn't notice any change - except that it's viewable under certain circumstances.

Huh, now the door isn't working. For some reason the phys_hinge isn't holding the func_physbox in place. Anyone else have this error or know how to fix it?

Placing that block shouldn't have stopped the phys_hinge from working.

Sorry, that didn't stop the hinge from working, but when I copied the idea to another door, that is when it stopped working (for the second door, the first still works).

Besides this problem (which I still have) I have incountered 2 others: I have created a can from a prop_static (probably using the wrong entity) and I want it to be able to explode when shot. The other problem I have is with a keyframe_rope. I want to be able to shot the rope making a door open but can not seem to figure it out. Don't forget my other delema(s) and thanks for all the help.
