Hello people I'm new in here so I need some help. I want to make a moving floor that makes you move to a straight line backwards. I don't know what to say lol.

try using func_movelinear
Make the floor block, and then select it and press ctrl+T, and select the entity func_movelinear
Put the properties as you desiere and chek out the flags.
For it to start moving you will either have it to make a trigger block, a button, or to have it moving all the time
When selecting what direction it should go, negative is Upwards, and positive is downwards (I know, confusing) For example 90 0 0, will make your floor move down. 0 90 0 will make your floor move north.
For the middle value use your top view as reference with east going > direction is 0 degreese, and north would be 90 degrees

func_tracktrain following a path_track. Best for complex routes. func_elevator moving sideways. Designed to carry people, but defaults up and down. func_movelinear or func_door would work too. func_door not designed for this use however, but works fine.

what is the difference between tracktrain and tanktrain?
also, I found that func_door will only move its own distance... so if you have a block which is 64 units height, 32width, and 8 depth. If you make it move up/down, it will move 64 units, if you move it towards its width it will move 32, and if towards its depth 8 units.

You can also add or subtract distance that the func_door moves by editing its "lip" setting

"tank" means mounted gun turret. "tanktrain" means a gun turret which can move, ie one on an APC or something which follows a path. However, it can be used instead of func_train. move_linear would be better than dunc_door then. A tip for simplicity: Only make the floor of the moving object a func_elevator (or whatever) and then build the rest of the moving unit (ie the cage around the person) out of func_brushes and parent them to the floor. This makes selecting it's movement pattern very easy since you only need to deal with (the centre of) a single brush. The rest just "follows". Great for vertical elevators but applies for horizontal too

the simplicty idea is very clever! Always had a bit of troble trying to figure out the height above the track ^^

func_movieliner is good but i hate it some times cuze i duno how much it moves if i set like 500 XD and the tracktrain thing use it a lot but u waste a lot of time moving and turning up side down stuff so its good in the game
