So, i just got the episode today ;D and I'm excited to make some maps for them, I ran episode 1 and it worked like a charm, i ran episode 2....and it crashes! it says "hl2.exe app error. The instruction "0x1100aa6f" referenced memory at "0x0ea00454". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate program" I got pissed off and later tried source sdk on episode 2. It ran, and worked...kinda Its REALLY crashy and i need to fix this. I tried updating my drivers (kinda) i don't think i did it right though... I'm gonna go try and fix it even harder, will post soon!

Try checking/validating the installation of Ep2. maybe remove local content and re-download?

I verified the cache defraged it and uninstalled episode 2 as well its still doesn't work Also uh i think i may know the problem. The computer i'm running source sdk on is really old. So it probably is givving me that error becuase, you know in half life games, they have a little level as a title screen? My computer can't process that screen! The problems not really that fixed, it would be nice to be able to open the title screen?

Well if it is that screen it is probably something to do with the graphics. Should it be that screen in the steam game menu go to "My Games->(right click half-life 2: ep 2)-> properties -> set launch options type in "-novid -console" The first will just shorten start up a bit and isn't really necessary, the latter will open a console when it starts but prevent the 3d map from being loaded in the background (just exit console once everything is loaded should it be open) -- from tweakguides.com, last page of his article on source games. At this point you should be able to at least adjust the settings if that was what was causing the issues. Oh and here is the article: www.tweakguides.com/HL2_1.htmlIf adjusting the normal settings doesn't let you run the game (assuming it is hardware) than something there might help... and I assume you googled this error and got no results then.

I got something like this for my ep2 maps, turns out if you set it to have a level title via map>map properties the game will crash on startup.
