Make a multi stop elevator. Include buttons which, when pressed, send the elevator to a certain floor. Good luck.

How about an appartment complex?
A square building with an open plaza in the middle, around it are rooms/houses where people live in. Maybe this building could be fallen so there are no civilians. Things will be damaged and on fire.
The elevator would fit in perfectly, right?

Or one of those glass elevators that goes up like 4 stories. With a central plaza on the bottom. With a func_breakable_surf it could look pretty sexy.

Uhm, just for notation's sake: you know that there's a pre-fab one from Portals on your 'Entities' list, right? All of these ideas are great ADDITIONS for the map, but not so good for basing an entire map around. We need to constrain our input to a schema, first, THEN work ourselves into a frenzy over the addenda. I like the convolution of the ideas, from before; combining the Prison map with a cliff map with some underground with some lab (Combine for DM) with a great 3d Skybox scenery... The only problem is that if it's TOO complex, it takes alot of the intensity out of the CSS angle; not complex ENOUGH and you ruin the possibility of morphing it into a HL2DM map. Ergo, I think a certain mean should be met so that it can be released for multiple games (at LEAST CSS and HL2DM), at the same time. So... General schema/ theme FIRST, THEN work into specifics.

May i just say that once we have the actuall layout (which is naturally probrably going to be the most difficult part if it isnt already done of this), we just make it a smorgasborg, where you use a bunch of overlays and where randomly you might walk froma beutiful forest into a desert wasteland, or a ghost town, into the black void where a wrong step could be disasterly!! (If it hasnt come up yet) and we could also have an underwater city like atlantis!! it could be under water as you cross a ocean to get to the bombsite in a modern ghost town from the spawn in the middle of antarctica!
