Ill throw this out to the fellow mappers,
A three wheel (each wheel has 12 sides) slot machine. To get the wheels to spin is no problem, any ideas on how to get them to stop so all the flat spots line up, like a regular slot machine.

Thus far... How many "outputs" do you want? One is easy. More? probably impossible. lol. Attachments:

Zeph, Just one on triple seven's that would trigger enclosed "win" sounds, tonight i textured the machine (with only one row of seven's)and added a "coin drop" sound on the rot handle. what would be great is if the wheel's would stop on the payline, tonight i tried three invisible func_movelinear's to act like brakes to stop the wheels and this would also play the "wheel stop sound". and line the wheels up, (with the wheels set to solid)but i haven't been able to get that to work. Those are the two tricky parts, To get the wheel's to stop in line, and somehow to get hammer to know the angle(or position) of each wheel and if three wheel's have the same fire a "win" sound. angle sensor?or maybe invisible cogs to activate a button make all three and "we have a winner". lol Thanks for your work on this. They physics arn't going to be good enough to "apply a break" to the wheel. If it's just one win, then that's easy. in fact... i think i just came up with a way for multiple wins..

I'm onto this (and already have ideas... ) Won't work. (doors, changing their "distance" opened) in fact... i think i just came up with a way for multiple wins.. Also won't work. (win strip trigger detecting which slot is 'in' it. problems with being unable to count number of triggers in the win strip) However... I've got a THIRD idea... Just need time to test it... (inverse of the above)

Thanks, Zeph. A old school (mechanical) one would be sweet. if too much hassle a modern, (video one) would work also. i have enclosed a 4 wheel antimated (three texs a screen) .vtf and the raw (9) texs .tga format. now they are running free at 3.0 frames per second. with the 4 sevens lined up. you will see what i got here maybe it will help. This one matches 3-of-the-same and 2-of-the-same, with separate outputs. Enjoy It could be expanded to a per-picture 3-of-the-same (IE 777 gives a different output to 333) by checking the number it gives. Attachments:

Zeph,
I tested the machine tonight, when i pulled the lever the wheels spun like normal and stopped, but the lever stayed in the "pulled" postion.
I think we are getting close
Thanks

Use the HL2 engine to test.

Zeph,
I do, The mod runs under hl2.exe, on the 2006 (ep1 engine) if that matters.
Thanks

2009 engine.
im using: OnIn Fired when the button reaches the in/pressed position. OnOut Fired when the button reaches the out/released position.
It doesn't say these were added in a later version, but they could have been.
