Hello everyone, it is me again with another question!
Anyway, I am attempting to 'arm' an underground tunnel with a func_button that sets off a boulder to destroy the poor soul who is trying to pass through the tunnel. The only problem is: The boulder doesn't inflict any damage upon contact. I attempted making a trigger hurt on the boulder and making the boulder its parent (not sure if I did that right) but the trigger hurt stayed where the boulder spawns, which is above the victim's head. Is there a way to make the boulder spawned inflict damage upon contact of the player?
Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure you have to parent the trigger_hurt to the boulder. Trigger_hurt: Parent > boulder.
If that doesn't work (it should though) isn't there a way to set mass?

www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=IuZhT17TsC8Strength: 0 Prop Data: Stone Large (should do it) Material Type: Rocks Should do it. Experiment with a zero or very large (10000) Strength, for a zero strength may cause it to not harm players. Just a guess.

I tried adding lots of strength to the boulder, that didn't work. Parenting the trigger hurt didn't move it, the trigger hurt is there whether the boulder is spawned or not.

the hurt will need to be spawned with the boulder, then parented after the spawn
ie with the output: onspawn -> "trigger_hurt" -> set parent -> "Boulder"

This is the same issue that brought me to this forum. It will work if both the boulder and the parented hurt are spawned at the same time with the same point_template. A lot of the tutorial examples fail to mention that the physics engines are slightly different between games.

Alright, that seemed to work, although the trigger hurt is still existent when the boulder is destroyed.

How does the boulder get destroyed?

It's a physbox, so it is destroyed after a certain amount of damage.

So the player destroys it by shooting at it a lot?

Set an output on the bolder to OnBreak --> Kill Hurtbox
Or, set the boulder to never break.

Set an output on the bolder to OnBreak --> Kill Hurtbox Or, set the boulder to never break. I put the output in, but now they trigger hurt doesn't spawn at all. This is becoming very confusing. I'm wondering if it's even worth having this feature in my map.

This works for me. A very tiny/simple wmf with all of the bits in. Shoot target, rock spawns and drops from the sky. Break rock, hurt-box vanishes with parent. (there is no Output to kill the hurtbox, it just dies when the parent does) Let me know if this works.. Attachments:
