Thats it. Steam account is gone, hacked. probably shouldn't have tried to scare the phishing scammer that got my freind earlier into giving an account back (worked). I guess he went to get a better hacker to get me back or something. Google my password for steam and found this blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=26250746Fucking pissed off, no more mapping for now.. I wrote a ticket to steam support, hopefully they actually read it, but if I do get my account back its probably going to be VAC banned.

How can they get so many passwords so quickly? They're not exactly easy ones to hack either. Makes Steam appear to be a fairly weakly secured platform. My friend has his steamid hacked- and he uses very complex passwords and is very knowledgeable about computers. He got his steamid back within a day when he sent a message to Steam. Although now he has an abysmal KD ratio in TF2

Judging by the passwords hacked, I don't think that will help. I have a 30 character long one, just in case.

Eww, still no reply from steam. Accounts long gone, It will be VAC banned by now Lucky I didn't buy fallout 3 and Far cry 2, I wont be trusting steam with any large sum of cash ever again, not if someone can just pull my password out of there ass. Ill post my new account details one my ticket has cleared on my "support account"

Rusty, how do you suppose they can just get so many complex passwords in such a short amount of time? I mean, seriously... they must have hacked the main Steam servers or something, monitoring ingoing and outgoing information. The person who posted it up doesn't appear to be much of a computer nerd.

Rusty idk how someone said they get replys from steam in two days, ive dealt with them multiple times, and 1-2weeks is the definate wait time. Just explain what happened, link the that site so they know youre not bluffing and they will cooperate just takes a while. My acc was hacked a while back and it took me about 4 weeks to have everything back to normal agian. Good luck.

I have no idea but its dated from august. I was thinking perhaps a server I visitited, but he hacked me RIGHT after I was fighting with a phishing scamer. possibly a virus, I had so many viruses on BOTH my PC's earlier, I haven't a clue how they got there, they infected heaps of old EXE's on my PC and I had to delete them. I have alot of dormant viruses back from generations ago in some of my exe's on my PC, so usually if I find a virus on an old EXE I assume its either a false positive or an old dormant virus that I havent found yet. Its all very wierd I know I wasn't phished. firewall didnt even blink, so I dont think my PC was broken into, although I wonder how the viruses got there. I got my account back, looks like the guy didnt visit any CSS servers, hope I dont get VAC'd. All the more reason to have a good real life, you never know when your shits going to get hacked RL - Backup

Which virus killer do you have? The most likely way of getting your password stolen is by having a keygen planted on your PC.
Kaspersky is my favourite.
Once our Teamspeak got hacked and they got my IP, the next day I found a virus on my PC. They certainly know how to do it- and that's why I have kaspersky antivirus. Anybody who hasn't been hacked think that they're safe with Mcafee or Norton... or AVG.

I used ot have AVG, but you need a firewall as well. Sure, AVG can detect the viruses when they are already in your PC - by that time you are already fucked. And yeah, 1 year free on norton ftw. ;D
