Sometimes in Hammer when I double click a brush entity I only get the VisGroup options, and not it's properties.
This is highly annoying for I then have to save and close the map, and then reload it to be able to view their properties.
Anyone else had this problem?

developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Hammer_Hotkey_Reference"Ctrl+W Toggle Ignore Groups mode to bypass entity and group selection." So its because im selecting part of a grouped entity? Ie multiple brushes all made into one func_detail and ive selected one of those brushes? I'll give it a go next time it happens. Why would reloading the map fix this though?

Ctrl+w toggles your brush based entities into world geometry ie a blank brush. If you double click an object that, lets say you made into a func_physbox, then click on it it will not show as one.

Thats Ctrl+Shift+W "Move to world".

No, move to world permanently makes a brush-entity into world geometry, ctrl+w toggles it. ;D

I get this problem a lot actually. I just figured it was a good time to restart hammer at points like these.

It's usually due to having "Objects" or "Solids" selected, instead of "Groups" in the menu on the right of Hammer. Try selecting "Groups" and trying again!
