I am trying to group a bunch of blocks together to create a lift, but they won't stay grouped. I group them, then click on something else, and when I click on the supposedly grouped blocks again they are still in their individual blocks... anybody help?

Try pressing ctrl+g a couple of times. If that doesn't work select them and press shift+w until nothing is selected and try clicking on the group again. This is also a bug with hammer, grouped things will not show as grouped until you restart hammer.

You can also try selecting all of it, then click TOOLS>GROUP. Yes it's the same as pressing CTRL+G, but it works for me, when that happens to me.

No, you dont need to restart hammer in order for grouping to work, and no, you do not need to press ctrl + g a multiple times for it to work either, it will just make it harder to ungroup it. Whats probably the problem here is that you have IgnoreGrouping on. Un-select it and you should be fine, you should be able to group and ungroup objects without having to press ctrl + g a multiple times nor you wont have to restart hammer, if thats not the problem i dont know what it is.

what i mean is that when you restart hammer, the thing you tried to group will be grouped. unless you ungrouped it already.

Actually its is a bug. I get it all the time. Grouped things will not be grouped, (I know how to check the ignore groups) and when I restart hammer its magically grouped again. Sometimes mashing ctrl+g helps.

Make sure you have "Groups" selected in the pannel on teh right, and not "objects" or "solids".
