I need help to get my water working! I don't THINK I have a leak, and I've tried too many things to remember! I'll give the .vmf. www.speedyshare.com/117362881.htmlPlease help me find the problem! And I'm also open to suggestions! This is my first map and I've used loads of 3kliksphilip's tutorials! Thanks!

You have a leak.
Delete all of the entities outside the skybox, they mess it up.

one thing that i dont understand is...some maps..have rooms outside the sky box..we can go at those rooms by teleports..and the map works...
But some one's...just doesnt works :/

Well, I've tried making a huge skybox that covers everything, including the ''func_monitor'' Which is used for my cameras : / And the water is still the same! I just can't seem to find the problem, I want to have my camera room and the way to get there, that's the two big rooms which is outside the skybox in the version I uploaded here. Please, isn't there any other way than to DELETE ALL my cameras and eveything??

I hear some one say..dont know if was 3kliksphilip...that we can just have one camera....dont know if is that the problem...but it can be..what u think philip

That's not right, 3kliksphilip wrote this in the description of his tutorial video on how to make cameras and CCTV: If you want more than one in the level, you make a second set of objects, rename them 02 or 002 when ever you have the chance and it should work. (He means the cameras when he says ''If you want more than one in the level'') So that couldn't possibly be the problem could it? : /

Ahh, I need to update that. Apparently people have tried and all of the cameras still view from the same position, so it doesn't seem to work.
I haven't tried it since the tutorial, I just thought that a monitor would bring joy and happiness to people's lives, I didn't expect them to attempt stupid projects like a room with 1000 cameras, or placing millions of small cameras together to make an invisibility cloak.
Just limit it to one. In fact, try deleting all of them and see if the water works then. There's somebody else with the problem that if the camera is visible at the same time as the water, it messes up, since Source can only render pretty water from one height at the same time.

Well, actually the leak disappeared from the compile window when I copy the definitions from halflife2.fgd (The monitor and camera ones) and paste them in cstrike.fgd But the water still remains the silly way Look when I look at my skybox ingame I see these things that actually looks like my own map?? What could be the reason of this? Does this have something to do with the water not showing up correctly? img269.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=weirdg.jpg and there's also holes in the small towers but you can still walk on those places??? HELP!

If you're outside the skybox then it won't render stuff properly. Add lighting, it will make your level look a lot better.

I wasn't outside the skybox, I took those pictures while inside my map. And do you think putting lights would fix my problems? This is the errors the Compile Checker could find: can't load skybox file skybox/sky_day01_09 to build the default cubemap! Description: You have entered a skybox texture which doesn't seem to be valid. Make sure you don't specify the last three letter (_UP, _DN, etc) of any skybox texture you use. You may also need to fix your vmt files if they are broken. It may also be caused by compiling a non-HDR skybox texture. The affected object may not work/appear properly Last contribution: Anonymous no such variable "$hdrbasetexture" for material "skybox/sky_day01_09rt" Description: You have used a non-hdr skybox texture, while the compile tools expect a hdr skybox instead. Solution: Either make a HDR skybox, change your skybox to a HDR one or ignore this error. And BTW the cameras works perfectly, I've used buttons which will switch between the cameras so that's why it worked for me and I only use 1 monitor

In regards to the camera issue, I have made a map with multiple cameras and as for my experiences with them, there are no side effects to the map, water, game play, ect. The problem with multiple camera views is that they can't all be displayed on one screen simultaniously. To fix this just make the views transition from camera to camera. Don't know if that helped clear anything up.

Hai, If what you said is True, When you looked outside your map you saw your map once again...But are unable to get to it. Could it be your Sky_Camera? When I was making a 3d Skybox I had issues with where my 3d Skybox was located in comparison to the map. Thats unless ofcourse you haven't given up/finished the map, or Solved the issue.

Where the 3D skybox is placed, represents the middle of the grid area. Something 16 units up in the skybox will look like it's 256 units above the floor in the real level.

Oh I know that, But. What I meant was...If I placed my 3d Skybox Below my Actual map, When I was in Map and Looked up I would see Another whole version of my map. (Obviously unnaccesable as its just an Illusion provided by the 3d Skybox)
