I doubt that many people play this game. It's only fun in my opinion when the sound and graphics are working properly (it's harder than you might think) and when you have 3-4 friends on, running about and causing havoc.

I refuse to play the game without a good sound mod, seriously the gun SFX in the vanilla game sound like someone clapped thier hands REALLY close to a microphone then boosted the pitch.
Its a brilliant game though, even though its around 3 years old and still lags a little on the newest PC's, You NEED a good co-op clan / group to have fun with this game.

It's not even 2 years old yet. It was released in Eastern countries a bit earlier I think. I remember it was one of the first games I tried out on my new Geforce 8800. So realistic compared to Oblivion's graphics.

Was released on November 10, 2006 according to wikipedia, Febuary 2007 in the UK. It does look good, but also shit at the same time, the effects are really amazing, same with the view distance, but the textures are not that great.
Its using an updated version of the OFP engine, I personaly thought that was holding it back, It would be like valve trying to get HL2 to look good on goldsrc :/
That does'nt mean its not a brilliant game, I played it happily and enjoyed it alot.
Not to mention the god awful robot voices.

Philip changed the title, we were talking about ArmA: Armed Assault. Some people call it ArmA: Combat Operations in the USA, same thing.

LOL... I was wondering the same thing, too... I was like, "Uhm.. Wha!?"
I have about 15 games, and play 5 or 6, pretty regular: CS:S, CZ, DoD, DoD:S, HL2DM, and of-and-on, Peggle (if I'm REALLY trank'd) or Portal: First Slice.
Mostly, though it's HL2:DM (My neighbor and I play, LAN), CZ or, lately, DoD:S.

Wait... I didn't change the title of the thread. That would have been stupid.

You changed the ArmA sections title, not the threads title.

Good boy! Thread is from September though I didn't even look at when the thread was from. All those games were out in Sept, anyway. Far as the DoD:S thing goes, I figure that spending 6yrs in the Army gave me a little hands on for a couple of video games
