Guys do you like this? (I just started) tell me whats good and whats bad. this map is used for Battle Arena, (T=prisoners, CT=guards who give T's assignments) the 2 diving things at the pool works with a little boost. tell me tell me!

Yeah, it's very atmospheric. I'd suggest adding more levels to it (so that it's less... flat) and adding in an env_cubemap or two will do wonders to it.

[UPDATE] * Pool updated * Hall to sauna is done * added some non-flat things to the walls here some screens: [WHAT TO DO NEXT] * Make a sauna (I need to know how to make steam/smoke, anyone knows?) * Make cells * Make CT spawn with armory * Make cantine with kitchen * Make electric chair * Make an outside place * Add some secret vents and weapons to the map * Make an alarm installation (like if you press a button, all lights will go off, and the red light things will flash and alarm sound, this had to be put on/off can anyone tell me how to?)

env_smokestack and other things with smoke in their name will make... smoke.
Cubemaps are easy. Place an env_cubemap in the centre of every room, then in CSS type buildcubemaps into the console, then quit and load up CSS again.

Perhaps fix the HDR, or just turn it off. Thats a pretty good map, not sure if it would fit with your style, but I would add debris to change the height difference, basically just piles of junk that you can walk on, also, with those rather awesome skylights in the pool area it would really add to the map if you could get onto the rood and fire through them. Try adding some florescent lights, maybe some flickering ones. also some junk decals on the floor would be nice. Good work EDIT: Dont over do it on those crates, they look a little out of place.

Guys im sorry, I will not continue this map, my steam got fucked up somehow and all my maps are gone ! Thanks for the help anyways, and can some still answer these questions, after I got a good answer this topic can be locked. 1. What is diffrent with my map when I put cubemaps in it? 2. I didnt touched HDR on when compiling so it's not on right? and then debris? skylight? please explain it, Im dutch so I think im missing some words to understand this >< Thanks (:

env_cubemap s reflect the environment, so instead of things like windows and knives glowing (they're actually just reflecting the skybox), they reflect things around them and look about 1000 times better.
HDR = High Dynamic Range , it makes things look whiter than white by making everything else get darker and vice versa. It looks better than no HDR, but Source seems to make it look rubbish compared to games like Crysis and Arma.
