I'm kind of biased here, having mapped for CSS for a long time. Any one up for making a brilliant CSS map? By this I mean we work together to make the layout as perfect as possible, everybody contributing ideas to each bit until we have a really fun map to play. It could even get put into the ED maps roster if it's good enough. Sure, I know there will probably be arguments, ie, 'I want it to be snowy! I want it to be a forest! I want it to be BOTH!' or 'My bombsite is better than yours!' ...but hey. It's all part of the fun. Anybody want to undertake this ambitious, problem ridden project?

I think snow is kind of boring, but i am making an avalanche map... So I don't know, avoid the dust theme.. I jungle with a few waterfall's would be cool.. But i guess that is sorta copying de_lost. I like futuristic maps but i have no idea. I would like to hear some more ideas!
in my opinion....to make the best possible ed map / cpl_map ect, is to take aspects from popular maps like d2, train, cbble, strike, fire, mill, nuke, inferno, and combine them into one decent map capable of being played on both 5v5 and on a 32 to 40man server. Saying "oh yeah take ideas from other maps" is easy i know, but its the basics to making a good map, like "looking to where others have suceeded".
After all, it has to be a map that will get played on public alot to get noticed as a good map. I would collate ideas and keep the map in beta for ages, and get responses from fpsbanana and other gaming communities to get their insight onto what can be added/removed/improved ect.
Things like 2 bombsites above one another on nuke is unique and clever how valve have done that by working multiple access points to bombsites and the T "straight to B vent dive" into the map.
Once i get a bit of quality spare time, i'll have a good think and post up my ideas. Im in
