I'm currently working on a surf map, and to make the floor of the map look better I decided to add water, everything works and looks great, except for the water reflections changing when you look at it from specific angles (Look at the attachment) It looks like it's changing to cheap water, but I don't quite get why, it does that..... So does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried cube maps, different water texture, full compile.

First two requirements of water: [/li][li]There may be only one water level height in a PVS if the water is expensive. [/li][li]"Expensive" and "cheap" water may not be used simultaneously in the same PVS. PVS means "can potentially be seen at the same time", or potentially visible set. developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Adding_Water#RequirementsSo for what you need, you'll need to have it as cheap, or at the same water level. Additionally, your optimisation in the area may affect the look of water as you move around. If there is complex geometry (cylinders, spheres, etc) nearby, make sure they are entities (eg func_Detail).

Thanks! Such a shame though, doesn't look that as good with the water at the same height :I
