YOUR GONNA DO A LOT OF READING SO BE PREPARED I want to make it Clear, and give as much info as possible.
Hey welcome broski
.
So I am currently trying to get it to work...
Firewall is turned off
Anti-virus turned off
Ports not only were forwarded but I turned my DMZ on and allowed all access.
Still not working.
First off ignore everything reapeat the steps i typed Above ^. then try this:
make sure you got your IP copy'd (Ctrl+c)
and type "connect <yourIPhere>" this is for your friends to connect.
------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried it with friends and it works 100% up to 12 players. even in tf2 and synergy and css it works.
Are you sure you typed it one by one on a different phrase each time ?
it might even be steam who is blocking it somehow. (mOST unlikely!)
Since you live in europe (Just a guess because of the site you linked is from holland). You might want to check your > "Windows Firewall" most people forget that one. what i did with the ports was. open 27000 till 27030. wich opens every port i need (27000-27030) < like this. UDP and TCP. and try and make sure your IP isn't dynamic (It changes every day if it is, which is not so useful, it is preferred to get a static but its not needed persé )
Also instead of deactivating your anti-virus or firewall make it so connections can pass trough it, especially with the "Reall time anti-virus thing" (Optional)
Required
Ports for Steam
Which ports do I need to open on my router or firewall for Steam?
Your network must be configured to allow Steam access to the following ports (in order from highest to lowest priority for QoS users):
Steam Client
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic)UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV)
TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads)
UDP 4380
Dedicated or Listen Servers
TCP 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)Steamworks P2P Networking and Steam Voice Chat
UDP 3478 (Outbound)
UDP 4379 (Outbound)
UDP 4380 (Outbound)
Additional Ports for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer
UDP 1500 (outbound)
UDP 3005 (outbound)
UDP 3101 (outbound)
UDP 28960
Many university networks and proxies block required ports for Steam operation - please consult your network administrator to ensure the required ports are open if you are using a university network or a proxy. Ports required for Steam can not be re-mapped to HTTP or reconfigured to a custom port range.
This here above made it so me and my friends could play on my computer hosted server here at my home. so my computer is running the actual server from the game. first off, if you get it to work and get in the map you want (Must be a original map first so people can join)
then you just use the changelevel command to change the map. its also very usefull to let your friends have the map before they join! (Its not always like this where you got to switch maps)
Make sure once you typed the code, to check what the console is saying, there should be popping up some green lines and whatnot. could you copy those here ? Because if you don't succeed with this ,its back to the dedicated server. which is a pain.
if your using wireless, than HELL get that Password out or your doomed.
here's an example in console :
] net_start
Opened Steam Socket NS_SERVER ( socket 1968 )
Opened Steam Socket NS_CLIENT ( socket 1980 )
Network: IP 192.168.10.102 mode MP, dedicated No, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL
] sv_lan 0
] map de_dust
