Ok I GCFScape up and extracted the soundscape_(mapnames).txt and the Manifest from CSS, I put them in the Garrys Mod Scripts folder.

nope! got a bit frustrated with it and left it alone for a few days.
Most of the level is done, built and ready, but I'm back to this. There's probably something really simple I'm not doing. I'll play around with it today a little.
Only other issue I'm having is trying to stop a crowbar opening func_doors in GarrysMod...

ok this is still bugging the hell out of me, and i think ive made too many changes to go over what ive done altogether......can't believe this can be so hard. When i used to map L4D it was simple and it worked straight off the bat, prolly cos L4D was a game in itself and GMod isn't.
I read on a forum that using Source Engine MP maybe wrong and this maybe the issue, but TF2 and CS:S appear in there.

rightfully or wrongfully I have taken all the scripts from CS:S except manifest and copy and pasted them into my garrysmod/scripts folder..
this is in the user folder not the sdk_content folder
