Hello, I am working on a jail map and have only started on the cell block so far. I can't take screenshots with my keyboard but my problem is that the stairs wont take any light. What I mean by this, is that I have tried different things like just a light then a light_point and having the lights point at the stairs in the options, but no matter what I do the stairs act as if there is no light whatsoever and are extremely dark and unlit. I can tell the lights work because, like what is in the map now, the walls and floor next to it are lit up by the light but the stairs remain dark. It's really odd as I have tried so many things. Also, I'm 99% sure it's not the player clip that's in there currently as that wasn't originally there when the problem first appeared. I really would like some advice on how to fix this. Thankyou Attachments:

i had a quick look firstly your stairs should be a func_detail not a func_brush unless you intend for them to move or something. Your floor is set to func detail this hinders you more and messes with the optimization. The issue with the stairs though i narrowed it down to the handrails causing the issue. Either disable shadows on the handrail or run sith staticpropshadows and staticproppolys in the rad compile. in the compile screen change to expert mode (or advanced not sure i used csgo css could be different) and in the drop down box choose full compile -final -both (slow) just be aware it will take ages to compile so mabey disable the shows on the rails whaile testing then reinable and do the full compile when its finished

Thanks man, Yeah I did have them as a func detail and tried func brush as a last resort and must've forgotten about it. I've disabled the shadows for the railings as they aren't that important and it works great, thanks a lot man!
