Hello, im new to mapping in portal 2. i keep getting an error about a leak. when i follow the red line, it goes into the void. I dont see any holes. I keep having these issues whenever i place an LIGHT entity or any PROP entity. Can someone please help?

There is a leak in your map.
Placing ANY point entity wil result is a leak - it has nothing to do with the entity.
Remember the following things: Brush entities (EG Func_Brush, Func_Detail) do not seal the map. Displacements do not seal the map. Entities with "helper nodes" outside the map are considered leaking. Water does not seal the map. Brushes with transparent textures may also not fully seal the map.
Make sure the red line does not pass through any of these. If it does, put a normal geometry wall behind the culprit, re-arraigning the brushes as necessary so there are no overlapping brushes.

lol, my ambient_generic leaked before, and I got all mad because I could see any leak, then I followed the red line, and the skybox was pulled up like 300 feet under the water brush.

Zeph, when i follow the line, i look very closely and i cannot see any leaks. When the red line goes through a brush, i make that brush a bit bigger to seal up a leak even though i cannot see it. and the red line is still there. Is it better to delete that brush and remake it?

Would you like me to take a look? upload the map to (eg www.mediafire.com/) and pm/reply the link, or attach it to the forums. It shouldn't take long to fix.

The leak is very clear when you follow the red line. It goes out between the roof and the wall of the last room to be made. There is a tiny gap between the two, which the red line goes through.
You've tried to build the map on-grid, but you have snap-to-grid turned off. Re-enable it with Shift+W, and check it's on in the lower right.
You must use snap to grid when building levels, as it'll snap brushes together efficiently, greatly reducing the chance of tiny gaps.

Here's your map. I've snapped everything to grid. I've re-textured to use NoDraw on ALL unseen faces. (so only seen faces are textured). I've re-adjusted a lot of brushes to adjust the level so it's built using the grid (IE the rooms are grid-sizes, or on the lighter grey grid lines). And, ofc, the leaks are fixed Continue from this one, and try to continue in the same manor. Keep things on grid, use snap to grid, and build using the grid, so that rooms are evenly made. Enjoy. Thank you so much! The weird thing is, when i was looking on my computer. The red line was on the portal gun and going outside in the first room i made.

Yes, that would be through the func_conveyor you had. So it looked like a solid brush, but it was an entity, and therefore not sealing the level. It'll only show the first leak it finds from the first entity it finds the leak from. It'll compile different locations at different times, so it's random which entity and which leak it picks.
Anyway, enjoy. When you add a couple more rooms, feel free to run it past me again, to make sure it's all in good order. Hopefully, you'll see what ive done and understand why, and become a better mapper yourself. If you'd like ot chat about the process, i'm available on steam or on our TS server (see other posts).
oh, and welcome to the forums :3

Are you snapping to grid? Size 32? Is it on or off (see down the bottom right)
Adjust your brushes so they tightly snap together.

the snapping is on. the only time i take it off is to put in props closely to the walls, but the actually brushes are snapped on www.mediafire.com/?nhwsrlee0h5sv7uTheres my map again. If only you had like xfire so i can see you fix the issue live. im really sorry to bother you again with the same issue
