Hello everyone. I found this forum from 3klikphilips short and to the point tutorials on youtube. I am hoping someone can help me out here. When I select a face using the texture tool and want to move around to select other faces as well (so that the textures all match up) I run into a problem. I can select multiple faces by using ctrl + click in the 3D view but as soon as I try to move around with the camera to select other faces the faces that I had selected are now "unselected" and the texture window disappears. I used to be able to accomplish this using the old hammer 3.4 back in the day and am just getting back into it for source based games. I found a video of what I am trying to do on youtube as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=92rRKzD46sc&feature=relatedAm I over looking something? Thanks for any ideas! Mark

After doing some more searching on Google I have found that this feature was removed in the newer version of hammer however there is a word around. For others running into the same problem this is what you do.
After selecting the texture tool, Ctrl + Click on the faces you want to select in 3D view, you can then press the letter Z on your keyboard. This allows you to aim your mouse and scroll to a different area. Once you are at the area where you want to select more faces press the Z key again. You can then Ctrl + Click more faces without hammer "deselecting" the faces you previously selected.

or release ctrl to move about, and press it again when selecting faces. z toggles mouse look on, so u don't have to hold space. you don't have to hold ctrl to keep the selected faces selected

you don't have to hold ctrl to keep the selected faces selected If you left click without holding control on a face it will deselect all other selected faces

or release ctrl to move about, and press it again when selecting faces. Yep, covered that... you don't have to hold ctrl to keep the selected faces selected What i mean is, the faces stay selected whether you hold ctrl or not. They wont all deselect if you release ctrl. But if you wish to add an additional face, then you need to hold ctrl before doing so.
