I'm working on a MOD (EP1 Source Engine), and I'm looking into different water effect, shaders, etc. I could use. I want realistic splashes, and came across this video:
How would I be able to create a .vmt/.vtf similar to this one? Thanks Ahead.

I think it's using Env_Splash. I think it's for a single raindrop ripple, which is quite small. You'll need to increase it's size using the scale. Make sure you check out the Flags tab too.

Thanks, I'll try that.
Do you know how I could use the effect when water is shot? I want a similar effect from that video to happen when someone shoots water.

I think shooting it is a decal which animates on the surface, not an actual ripple. And i think it's in defaultly, isn't it?

Okay, I think I found a way to make it work, but is there a way I can make the texture fade out instead of just disappearing? I'm using a normal, and want it to look good, so I want it to fade out instead of disappearing.
Here's the .vmt
"Refract" { "$model" 1 "$refractamount" "1.0" "$refracttint" "[1 1 1 50]"
"$dudvmap" "effects/splash1_dudv" "$normalmap" "effects/splash1"
"$surfaceprop" "water" "$bumpframe" "0"
}
What could I add to have it fade out.

Problem with that, is that it isn't animated. The texture expands instead of bein animated, then just disappears. I wan't it to fade out to look better.
