Gmod10? If so your graphics card is out of date and cannot run gmod10. If you have any question as to what your graphics card is, google and download gpu-z, It will tell you everything.

His video CAN run the game it's just that he needs the drivers updated.

I doubt it could, if hes running the orange box engine. The cut off support for the lower cards. Thats why it sucked buying tf2 when it came out only to find out it didn't let me play D:

Create System Restore before you install anything critical like this, just go Start>all progs>accessories>systemtools>system restore and create a restore point, and if the drivers don't work, it'll probably say that it didnt, and also if like nothing even shows up on your screen, it may roll back automatically...
P.S. what you're downloading is correct, DL it.

ok, i fixed it! ^_^ i just went to "start" > "run" then typed "dxdiag" then hit "ok" then went to the display tab and it told me all i needed to know about my video card.
BUT i could have just went to the nvdia website and had them scan my computer for driver updates (like i did after hours of research on how to update -_- )

john88z, the Geforce 6800 is more than capable of running the Orange Box. People with onboard graphics have been able to run it, albeit horribly slowly. Anything at ATI 9700 or above level should be able to run it okay, provided the processor is up to the task. I'm guessing that you're on XP. www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_190.62_whql.html

Huh, I thought the 6800 only had shader model 2.0

Time to get a new graphics card! Although 6 series was OK a few years ago, 9 series is win now EDIT: Yes, it will run GMod, but it will be hell. Also, post the rest of your system specs (RAM, processor etc)

Eh, an update would probably make life awesome but no need to be too assertive, unless it runs significantly slower than my 7300 LE (light edition, imagine that) -- which it very well could -- everything should run perfectly provided at least 2 gigs of RAM. This is just based on my experience, I had some issues still after upgrading to 1 gig of RAM, and now with 3 gigs I never use more then 2 gigs. Meh, I shouldn't even bother with this post though, just saying that the author shouldn't feel he NEEDS to get a new graphics card. Just tossing that out... though the author didn't ask what video card or specs are best.
