Adding lighting would make it look 1000 times better

No, I mean a light_environment entity Hmm, I think I'm doing it right, but the map is still dark, and it seems like my cubemaps ain't working. Will I have to remove them in order to make it work?

Cubemaps won't alter the brightness. Show us some pictures. Be sure to point the light_environment in the right direction (downwards, or an angle the sun usually shines from)

do you have any textures with models in the name? check by opening the texture application box then clicking browse and in the left lower corner tick only used textures.

Yeah I did, but it didn't help when I changed it to a teture without model in the name..

Did you point it downwards? Is it still a white coloured light_environment?

Did you point it downwards? Is it still a white coloured light_environment? It wasn't white but a yellow'ish colour. And it didn't point directly down but almost. Though making it white and point directly down didn't help either..
